Improvements Designed to Drive Superior Survey Response Rates and

Improve Teaching Effectiveness

WALTHAM, MA, March 30, 2017 – Invoke™, the pioneer in course evaluation systems and large-scale online qualitative market research solutions for both higher-ed administration and commercial applications, will demonstrate the next generation of its CoursEval™ and Invoke LIVE for Higher Education solutions at the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Annual Conference.

Both solutions will be displayed and demonstrated at Invoke’s booth (#158) during the HLC’s 2017 annual gathering, to be held March 31 through April 4 at the Hyatt Regency, Chicago. The HLC oversees academic accreditation for colleges and universities in 19 states located throughout the central U.S.

An established leader among experiential survey and student/course feedback tools, CoursEval™ delivers quantifiable and qualifiable insights about the student experience to higher-ed administrators and faculty. It supports accreditation efforts and the continuous improvement of both in- and out-of-the-classroom learning and students’ overall campus experience.

As a cloud-based solution designed for a range of non-technical academic professionals, CoursEval™ is used by hundreds of higher education institutions around the world. The features and functionality demonstrated at the HLC conference are available immediately to users.

The latest release of CoursEval™ offers users:

  • Ease of use and greater productivity: CoursEval’s highly intuitive new user interface is designed expressly for students, faculty and administrators.
  • Timely and targeted reminders to participate: Smart Reminders ensure that survey participants get the right email message at the right time, and reduce email fatigue.
  • Easier, more effective faculty/student interactions: Smart Communications give faculty the quickest and easiest means to encourage student participation in the feedback process.
  • Enhanced teaching and learning: Survey Intelligence Report offers new statistical data to drive a more productive learning experience inside and outside the classroom.

“CoursEval™ helps college administrators increase student participation in course evaluation surveys, submit more accurate and complete mandated reports for accreditation or re-accreditation, and improve both teaching and learning,” said Gigi Wang, CEO of Invoke™. “It delivers the ‘why behind the what’ that empowers faculty and administration to enhance student engagement and the entire educational process.”

Invoke Solutions is seeking a talented Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to help write the next generation of Invoke’s large-scale focus group and course evaluation products.  A successful candidate will be a talented, curious self starter who enjoys small teams and startups.  We have launched v1 but there are many new features to add, with your work split roughly 50/50 between frontend and backend.

The Product families

Invoke has two primary products.  The first is a patented large scale focus group platform that clients use to gain insights into their products, messaging, advertising, and more in a fraction of the time it would take them to glean the same information from traditional market research methods.  The second product is CoursEval™, which is used by educational institutions for essential course and instructor evaluations.

What Makes You A Good Fit:

Our team is small and highly collaborative.  We rely on each other for ideas and different ways to approach problems.  This position is ideal for someone who enjoys constant challenge and learning.

Key technologies we’re utilizing in our Java-based stack include:

– Dropwizard application framework

– ReactJS on the front end, both browser-based and server-side rendering utilizing node.js

– MongoDB

– MySQL to store the stuff that doesn’t go in Mongo

– Google Guice for our dependency injection

– Gradle for our builds

– Linux on our laptops

We want you because you:

– function() { well as a key contributor in a small team/startup environment;}

– Are smart and highly motivated to muck around and learn new techniques and technologies

– Love programming: Skill with Java-based stacks and Javascript is preferred, but experience with similar languages, and the attitude to figure it out, will work too.

– Know your way around SQL and database design

– Have 5+ years of programming experience

– Either have a Bachelors degree in computer science or similar field, or equivalent work experience

– Are authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
