Mr. Coit has been investing in private companies for over 25 years. Before he founded North Atlantic Capital, he was President of Maine Capital Corporation. For six years, he was at the First National Bank of Boston. He earned a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies and has been on the Board of the New England Venture Capital Association. He is a former U.S. Naval Officer.
Prior to founding Lionbridge in 1996, Mr. Cowan was chief executive officer of Stream International Inc., a $1.8 Billion division of R. R. Donnelley & Sons, and was interim chief executive officer of Interleaf, Inc. In addition to his activities at Stream, Mr. Cowan was executive vice president and member of the Management Committee for R.R. Donnelley from 1991 to 1996. Prior to Donnelley, Mr. Cowan was president and chief executive officer of CSA Press of Hudson, Mass., a 1986 acquisition of R.R. Donnelley. He also held positions at Compugraphic Corporation, in Wilmington, Mass., and London, England. Mr. Cowan attended Vassar College and received his M.B.A. from Harvard University.
Dr. John Eisner joined the UB School of Dental Medicine in 1989. In 1992 he became the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and in 1993 he was named Associate Dean for Information Resources. While at UB, Dr. Eisner created a not-for-profit team known as The Academic Software Collaboration (TASC) to develop software applications and soon had over 1000 clients. In 2001, TASC became a private company known as Academic Management Systems (AMS). AMS merged with Invoke in 2015.
In 2009, Dr. Eisner was named as the University at Buffalo ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’. In 2011 he received the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry Distinguished Service Award. In 2014 he received the American Dental Education Association’s highest honor, the Gies Award for Innovation in Dental Education. Dr. Eisner received his DDS from the University of Alberta and his PhD in Education from the University of Michigan in. He resides in Florida.
Dan has founded several companies, served as CTO, and been an investor and advisor many times. Previously, Dan ran a commodity fund for 7 years and developed investment signaling for global equity funds for 9 years. In 1999, he founded ThoughtStore, a web-based market for intellectual property licensing which was acquired with mixed results 16 months later. Dan began his career as an analyst in the Fixed Income Applied Research Group at JP Morgan Investments. He graduated from Princeton University, ’97, in Economics, Applied and Computational Mathematics.
Gigi has spent her career in technology, consulting, and market research. Prior to joining Invoke, she held numerous positions with market research and industry insight companies. Key positions include CRO at the Yankee Group, EVP at TNS (a WPP company) serving the Consumer and Technology sectors, and SVP and CMO roles at IDC. She holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Massachusetts and B.S. in Operations Research from Cornell University. Gigi has served as a Director of Invoke since 2011.
Mr. Sheppard has been a financial/operating executive and investor in private growth companies for the past 8 years, with extensive SaaS experience. Earlier in his career, he was a corporate development executive and an investment banker. His experience with education companies spans the past 12 years, and includes working at McGraw-Hill Education and Pearson. He earned a MA from Cambridge University and an MBA from Wharton, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
